Wedding Guidelines

 
  

Guidelines for Weddings

 
  • Bride and/or Groom will go to the church office and fill out the Wedding application.
  • Bride and/or Groom must fill out the Wedding application Form 100 completely.
  • Wedding date must first be logged in the church calendar to see if the date is available. 
  • If date is available, a deposit of $100.00 must be made in order to insure such date.
  • Total fee for use of facilities is included on the application, and all fees are payable two weeks before the wedding.
  • Checks are to be made payable to St. Stephen Baptist Church with a notation “wedding”
  • Pastor and Church Secretary, Barbara Jenkins, must approve all applications before bing placed in the Wedding Application Book.
  •  If there is to be a reception at the church, Form 102 (Simpson Hall) and/or Form 103 (Family Life Center) must be filled out at that time (These forms also must be approved by the Pastor)
  • Once the approval is done, Barbara  will notify the Marriage Ministry director that there are forms to be picked up (Forms 100, 101, 102, 103).
  • Director will call the Bride and Groom to set up an appointment. 
  • Director will discuss with them as to the class they need to take and assign them to one of the facilitators for that class.
  • Director will let the Bride know that a copy of her application will be given to the Wedding /Reception Coordinators.
  • Form 104 (The Wedding Party) will be filled out through the Church's Wedding Guild.
  • If Bride and Groom are having their wedding reception at the church, the Marriage Ministry director will submit a copy of their wedding application, as well as Form 102 or Form 103, to the Reception Coordinator.
  • Non-members can not fill out a wedding application (Form 100) or be put on the church calendar until they have made an appointment, with the Pastor. (This is something that the applicant must do on their own).
