Transforming Lives One Person At A Time!!

*About Synergy Groups

Serving One Another and Growing in Christ

Small groups have been a key aspect of church life from the very beginning of the Christian church (see Acts 2:46-47; 5:42). Here at St. Stephen, our groups  are called Synergy Groups.  Why? Because we realize that the energy developed when people work together in harmony is much greater than that by  working alone.  Small groups are beneficial for all sized churches, but more especially for large churches.  In order for our new members to connect, stay and grow, they need to befriend other members.  This relational dynamic takes place in small groups.  As one pastor put it, we must grow "smaller and  larger" at the same time.   Given the mobility of our society and our busy lifestyles , small groups provide a safe and non-threatening place for people to gather.  Discipleship, fellowship, encouragement, caring and sharing occur in such an affirming atmosphere.  The future of the church requires a well defined path to missions and discipleship (Matt. 28:19-20).  Small groups are a vital component of this effort, and provide many benefits for a growing church.

For example, off campus SYNERGY GROUPS allow our progressive, growing, serving church to:

1.      Continue its growth without necessarily having to acquire additional space.
2.      Provide a place for new members to assimilate into the life of the church.
3.      Allow all church members to experience a transformed life in Christ.
4.      Permit more members to get involved in ministry to one another.
5.      Provide a non-threatening and safe place to reach our friends, family and neighbors.
6.      Have an opportunity for outreach to the unchurched and unbelievers.

If you are not involved in a Synergy Group, we invite you to join one today. Your life in Christ will develop in ways you may not expect. Also, you will have an opportunity to get involved on a new level of service to fellow church members and our neighbor at large. Contact the church, the website or the SYNERGY GROUP team members for additional information.
